Cosmetic surgeons performing rhinoplasty could make use of sound waves to avoid any damage to a patient’s skin or soft tissue. This is according to research from the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, where doctors conducted a retrospective study of 103 patients who underwent conventional rhinoplasty as well as aesthetic refinement procedures. Sound waves which were generated by an ultrasonic bone aspirator were used in every case.
