Here are some of the most common reasons to consider male nose correction treatment:
Nasal Asymmetry
Unevenness and imbalance in the nose’s size, position, and shape may lower your confidence and self-esteem. These nasal asymmetry issues may make your nose appear tilted and crooked. One side of the nose may differ from the other side significantly. This may be either by birth or may occur as a result of a trauma and injury to the nose. No matter the reason, surgical procedures like the male nose correction can correct the underlying structural problems and achieve balance and facial harmony for an overall improved appearance.
Reduction of the Dorsal Hump
A bump or a dorsal hump on the nose bridge can be bothersome for some males. But the rhinoplasty procedure can easily tackle this issue and either eliminate or reduce it as required.
Reduction of Nasal Width
Some men with wide nostrils may feel extra conscious about their looks. The wide nasal base may cause problems with the proportion of their face. This is when male nose correction may be a good choice for them to enhance facial symmetry and harmony.
Refinement of the Nasal Tip
The drooping and bulbous tip of the nose may trigger the need for nasal tip refinement. A bulbous tip largely refers to excess tissue that results in a round appearance, while a drooping tip has a downward-sloping position. Nonetheless, these issues can create dissatisfaction and lead to self-consciousness. Therefore, opt for male nose correction job for a more balanced and defined nose that looks aesthetically pleasing.
Breathing Issues
It’s important to understand that sometimes structural abnormalities and deviated septum can obstruct breathing. This is when you might want to consider male nose correction surgery to address breathing difficulties and ensure proper nasal functioning.
Trauma or Injury
This procedure is a good option for men who have suffered from nasal trauma and injuries like fractures to restore the function and appearance of the nose seamlessly.
Here are the ideal characteristics that candidates for male nose correction surgery demonstrate:
Medically Fit
Candidates for nose correction surgery should be medically fit. Good medical health is a requirement to ensure they undergo the treatment safely with minimal complications and risks.
Specific Concerns
You may be an ideal candidate for this procedure if you are dealing with any of the following issues like breathing problems, dorsal hump, asymmetry and wide nostrils.
Enhance Your Appearance
If the appearance of your nose bothers you and lowers your self-esteem and confidence, then you may be an ideal candidate.
Non-Smoker
To undergo this procedure, you should either be a non-smoker or quit smoking. Smoking is harmful plus it can increase the chances of developing complications while interfering with your healing process.
Nose job surgery is performed in an operating theatre and in most cases under general anaesthetic. Surgery usually lasts between one and two hours depending on the amount of reshaping to be carried out. In order to avoid visible scarring to the face the Surgeon will begin by making internal incisions to the nose and then carry out remodelling which may involve trimming or shaping cartilage and bone to create smooth shape.
After the surgery, the Surgeon will put in a nose plug and a plaster splint to keep the nose in place whilst it heals. The plug can be removed the following day, however the plaster splint will need to remain for a week. Rhinoplasty surgery usually involves an overnight stay at your clinic or hospital and you should be able to go home the following day.
After you have your plaster splint taken off you will not see the new shape of your nose immediately as the nose will be quite swollen for around three months. After the swelling reduces, you will be able to see how your newly shaped nose looks.
You will be able to return to work after ten days but it is essential that you follow the aftercare instructions discussed with your Surgeon and attend all follow up appointments. You should also avoid sunbathing and contact sports for a few months after your nose correction surgery.
To ensure optimal outcome from the surgery, it is vital to pay attention to recovery and postoperative care. Though your surgeon will provide you with a personalised care plan, here are the general guidelines to follow post-surgery:
Postoperative Care
Some patients may return home the same day after the surgery, while others may have to stay at the hospital overnight- especially if more procedures have to be performed concurrently.
Recovery
